Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is partnering with Idox’s Open Objects to rollout the innovative Education, Health and Care (EHC) Hub – a secure online platform that manages all aspects of the complex EHC process.
The Hub will support the Council in realising a person-centred approach, aiding collaboration with professionals and families, and enabling information sharing at each stage – from the 20-week assessment and planning pathway, through to EHC Plans and reviews.
Richard Lynch from Barnsley MBC commented:
“Implementing the EHC Hub will help us to fully engage with our partner agencies and families, allowing them to make their own contributions, see the contributions of others and track progress to deliver positive outcomes for the child or young person at the heart of the process. The digital platform will increase transparency, improve communication and digitise paper and manual processes for increased efficiency.”
With valuable features – such as the ability for the child or young person involved to add media directly into the ‘All about me’ section of their plan, and delivering automatic notifications to contributors when changes have been made or their input is due – the EHC Hub will drive meaningful engagement to provide the best possible outcomes for those with special educational needs and disabilities in Barnsley.
