Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND)
The SEND module offers you a number of ways to publish information, track individuals and develop support plans for children and young people with a Special Educational Need or a Disability.
This module will support you in delivering the information requirements of the Children’s Act 1989 and the Children and Families Act 2014.
The module can be licensed for use as a whole or as separate elements;
The Local Offer – enables you to meet your statutory duty to publish information about support services in your area for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. This online channel publishes the detail of your local offer and user consultation process, as well as drawing on your Directory for service information. It allows you to identify and display useful information they need to know, in one place, so they can make informed choices about the support they receive.
Disability Register- will help you to plan quality services for disabled children based on up to date factual information. It uses a secure database which allows you to store and track information on children with a disability. The database can be accessed by parents or practitioners, updated and amended as the child’s development and circumstances change. Particularly useful when needing to send the same information to multiple services.
Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) – generates the new single joint plan for children and young people who have special educational needs or a disability and where an assessment of an individual’s education, health and social care needs has been agreed by a multi-agency group of professionals. The EHCP is a legal document which sets out a description of the child’s needs (what he or she can and cannot do) and what needs to be done to meet those needs by education, health and social care.
