Data Harvesting

Datastore's built-in Atelus™ data harvester allows you to very easily pull together and aggregate information from any online and back office sources.  Information harvested in this way automatically updates itself from the original source saving time and effort in managing your information set.

Assemble information from any sources and keep it up to date automatically

The data harvester uses a rules based methodology to extract the exact set of information that you need from each of your information sources.  So if your online directory or database needs to bring together information from multiple sources, you can achieve it without any duplication of effort or the need for manual updating.  The harvester works equally well with structured sources (such as databases) as well as with free-form sources such as websites.  Whatever the information set, the harvester can pinpoint and automatically collect it to provide your own aggregated feed set.

Collaborate and share information

The Datastore is the common space in which information can be shared and collaborated on between partners (both internal and external to your organisation). There is no need to compromise existing information management processes to achieve shared information sets.  The data harvester simply makes the most of the processes already in place to ensure that information from all available and relevant sources are available to your project.

Data Transformation

The data harvester includes a data transformation process which enables you to perform any type of changes or cleansing operations on the data that you aggregate. For example, you may need to enforce a standard method of date expression within your aggregated dataset (expand dates into human readable format, such as "Tuesday, 25th August 2009) or you may want to categorise according to a shared scheme.
