Family and Community Hub
Open Objects' Family and Community Hub is used by Family Information Services all over the country to deliver their online Family Service Directory (FSD).
The Hub provides a shared online home from which to make available all types of information, including Services, Events, Positive Activities, Advice and Guidance for Children, Young People, Families, Parents, Carers and Service Practitioners. Service directories of all types can be delivered by the Hub in any 'look and feel', so information can be targeted precisely for each key user group.
The Hub is built on Open Objects' unique Datastore information management system, and is packed with features that will save time and effort in maintaining a top-class Family Service Directory. It includes a multi-level secure login system which enables service records to be managed by any groups, internal and external, that are working in partnership with the FIS. There is even the facility for FIS's to allow individual service providers to submit updates to their own records (under FIS approval), and alert features to automatically notify when records are due for review.
Information Harvesting - save time and effort
The Hub incorporates unique AtelusTM data harvesting technology which is designed to automate many of your regular information update tasks. It saves hours of regular manual checking of your information sources, by automatically watching for changes and updating your central Directories. The harvester pulls information into your Directories from existing sources, such as websites and internal databases, chosen by you. It can watch partner websites for new Activities and Events and pull summaries of these into your Directory. It can also pull information in from any of your back-office sources (e.g. Early Years database, Youth Services database etc).

ISPP Compliance - Meeting the standard
The Hub incorporates a powerful ISPP data bridging area which enables you to meet the DCSF's ISPP requirements. The Information System for Parents and Providers (ISPP) project promises to join up family services information at a national level. To be ISPP compliant you will need to be able to feed information, such as your Childcare register, into the ISPP. In addition you can benefit from ISPP by drawing back information from the national system into your local Directories.
The Open Objects Family and Community Hub will equip you for ISPP and beyond. Whatever Early Years system you are using (including your iChIS replacement) and other internal databases, whether you currently have a standalone service directory or not, we invite you to look at Open Objects Family and Community Hub to meet the new challenges.
